Do you speak English?

Is everyone enjoying the snow? We had 24 inches yesterday. That's not much compared to Mexico, NY. They have had so much snow that they have no way of humanly measuring it.

My lap top had permanent melt down about three months ago. I had already spent over $200.00 "fixing" it so now I don't have a computer at home. It is quite an inconvenience. I can't do a blog unless I'm at the office and I couldn't make it in yesterday.

I found another site to sign another petition to defund Planned Parenthood. Just click on this link and sign the petition. www.stopplannedparenthoodtaxfunding.com/

With so many really important issues, CEDAW treaty, Planned Parenthood, Gay Marriage, Abortion, One World Government, the erosion of Christian influence and presence in our society and government, the topic of U. S. English might seem rather insignificant. Alex Baldwin made fun of the issue during a tirade mocking Conservative issues. I also thought that it wasn't all that important. However, it is just one more attack on American unity and sovereignty. It fits into the One Worlder's plan to weaken, splinter, demoralize and ultimately destroy our country.

A common language is one of the most unifying forces in any society. Without a common language, we will cease to be a melting pot and become a tossed salad with every ethnic group maintaining their own language, customs and values. Far fetched?

Representative Jose E. Serrano (D-NY) introduced a bill in January 2007 that would make it illegal for English to be America's official language.

His bill, (H.Con.Res. 11), which is called the "English Plus Resolution," seeks to BAN making English our official language and instead, establish MULTILINGUALISM as the official policy of the United States.

This legislation would require the U. S. government to provide services in languages other than English -- and promote policies which encourage all residents of this country to learn or maintain skills in languages other than English. In short, make America officially multilingual.

This bill is an outrage. The 'English Plus' bill must be defeated. English is the most internationally recognized language in the world. It is ridiculous to think that it would not be used by all American Citizens. Grade school children in Hong Kong are required to learn English. Can we require less of our school children?

Background Info:

  • President Clinton's Executive Order 13166 requires federal agencies and organizations receiving federal funds to provide government services in any language -- on demand. This costs taxpayers around $46 billion a year.
  • The U. S. Department of Justice requires states and countries to print election ballots in foreign languages at over 1,000 polling locations. This costs taxpayers around $27 million a year.
  • Last year the Senate passed a bill to make English our official national language. Unfortunately, the House of Representatives did not have enough time to act on this bill and allow it to reach the President's desk.
  • Arizona voted to make English their official language last November, bringing the total number of Official English states to twenty-eight. There have been court battles to repeal these Official English state laws. So far Official English has stood up under court scrutiny.
Go to our Contact Our Govt Page (on our Home Page) www.nyfamilyinfo.net and call and email your NYS Representative. Ask them to vote against H. Con Res. 11. We can stop this bill from becoming law if we act and pray. For more information on U. S. English go to www.usenglish.org.

Tomorrow is Friday. I stay at home and babysit for my grandson on Friday. On Friday, Intercessors for America publishes a Friday "Watch Fires" report that summarizes important issues to be aware of and to pray about. www.ifapray.org/ It's right above the National Debt Clock.

Blessings to all~
