I received this as an email from a Board member. I had heard about this but a picture is definitely worth 1000 words!

Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.
Barack Hussein Obama (that's his real name)......REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....and yet he wants to be our next Commander-in-Chief.
I don't understand why anyone who refuses to pledge allegiance to our flag and to the country for which it stands would want to be President of that county.

Stem Cell Research Breakthrough
Praise the Lord!!!! There has been a breakthrough in stem cell research. Scientists in Japan and scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have reported that they have turned human skin cells into cells that appear to have the same ability as embryonic cells to produce the 220 cell types found in the human body -- heart, brain, bone, blood etc, etc. The discovery involved adding four genes to human skin cells. By adding these genes, they were able to reprogram the chromosomes of the skin cells and turn them into blank slates that act like embryonic stem cells. These cells are promising and will not have the draw backs of embryonic stem cells:
- When you extract cells from an embryo, you kill the embryo, a living child, albeit, a small living child.
- Adult skin cells have had the influence of chemical and electrical stimulation from other cells in the body, something embryonic cells lack. Therefore, adult stem cells have been programed by proximity to other cells and will not produce the tumors and extra tissue that embryonic stem cells produce because they lack that programming.
Prior to this discovery, embryonic stem cells had to be harvested from human embryos. The process destroyed the embryo. Now it will no longer be necessary to destroy human embryos in order to get omnipotent stem cells -- cells that can produce every type of body cell. This is a marvelous discovery.
This is a discovery that is worthy of much praise. Hopefully this discovery and future research will eliminate the need to destroy human life in a vain attempt to make embryonic stem cells work.
The Minneapolis StarTribune reported on this breakthrough the day before Thanksgiving.
Praise the Lord and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Meet the Candidate: John McCain
Meet John McCain:
Government Spending, Lower Taxes and Economic Prosperity America's economic progress requires that the federal government abide by the same standards of common sense and fiscal restraint as hardworking families.
Read More Straight Talk on Health System Reform
John McCain is willing to address the fundamental problem: the rapidly rising cost of U.S. health care. Bringing costs under control is the only way to stop the erosion of affordable health insurance, save Medicare and Medicaid, protect private health benefits for retirees, and allow our companies to effectively compete around the world.
Read More Human Dignity & the Sanctity of Life
During more than five years as a POW in Vietnam, John McCain experienced the worst assaults on human dignity imaginable. Yet each day he also saw in his fellow prisoners the power of human compassion and the will to prevail against unimaginable evil. It is this experience, and a life dedicated to public service, that has imbued in John McCain a fundamental commitment to the protection of human dignity that will shape his presidency.
Read More Lobbying & Ethics Reform
John McCain believes that a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" must remain ever faithful to that noble charge. America needs leadership devoted to the public interest, not the special interest, and a government that fulfills its duties with unfailing integrity, accountability, and common sense. Those who serve in positions of public trust have a patriotic duty to serve the national interest with integrity and accountability, to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the people we are privileged to serve, and to devote ourselves to America's agenda, not that of narrow special interests.
Read More Strategy for Victory in Iraq
John McCain believes that we must not fail in Iraq. Succeeding in the cause of helping the Iraqi people build a stable, secure, representative state is essential to achieving an enduring peace in a region of the world central to American prosperity and national security. Failure in Iraq will endanger America for generations to come. America has a vital interest in a secure, democratic Iraq, at peace with its neighbors, to help stabilize a dangerous and critical region.

I have always believed that our border must be secure and that the federal government has utterly failed in its responsibility to ensure that it is secure. If we have learned anything from the recent immigration debate, it is that Americans have little trust that their government will honor a pledge to do the things necessary to make the border secure.
Read More Commitment To America's Service Members: Past And Present
America owes its liberty, its prosperity, and its future to our veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our great country. John McCain has fought to honor our national commitment to our veterans who have given their careers and livelihoods to ensuring our freedom. He believes we must provide for service members and their families while they serve, we must help those who return from combat to adjust to civilian life, and we must honor and never forget the service of those who do not return.
Read More National Security
The most sacred responsibility vested in a president - the commander in chief - is to "preserve and protect" American citizens. John McCain has the necessary vision and unrivaled experience to command the United States armed forces and adapt our nation's defenses to the demands of a changing and dangerous world.
Read More Stewards of Our Nation's Rich Natural Heritage
John McCain has a proud record of common sense stewardship. Along with his commitment to clean air and water, and to conserving open space, he has been a leader on the issue of global warming with the courage to call the nation to action on an issue we can no longer afford to ignore.
Read More Protecting Second Amendment Rights
John McCain believes that the right of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms is a fundamental, individual Constitutional right that we have a sacred duty to protect. We have a responsibility to ensure that criminals who violate the law are prosecuted to the fullest, rather than restricting the rights of law abiding citizens. Gun control is a proven failure in fighting crime. Law abiding citizens should not be asked to give up their rights because of criminals - criminals who ignore gun control laws anyway.

Prayer Changes Things/God Sends Rain
God seems to be waiting for us to acknowledge His sovereignty and His willingness to answer prayer. As SW Radio Church has always said, "God is still on the Throne and prayer changes things." God, our loving problem solver, and source of all blessing, is just waiting to hear from each one of us. Below is an account of answered prayer which was found on Intercessors for America's Friday Watch.
"GEORGIANS PRAY FOR RAIN; GOD ANSWERS [Praise the Lord]
Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue and hundreds of citizens cried out to God for rain on the steps of the state Capitol Tuesday, "Father, forgive us and lead us to honor you as you honor us with the showers of blessing," the governor prayed. "Thank you, Lord, for the showers that come." Georgians and their Governor, Sonny Purdue, lifted up prayers for rain at the State Capital in Atlanta this past Tuesday. Thankfully, the forecast changed in less than 24 hours and the rain came Wednesday evening. "This is hopefully the beginning of more," Perdue said. "One rain won't refill the reservoirs. It is great affirmation of what we asked for." Perdue was also joined by Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle in appealing to the heavens for rain. "This isn't the first day he's been on his knees in prayer for rain," Cagle said of Perdue. "This is not a ceremony. It's an action of calling the entire state to pray." "We've come together here simply for one reason and one reason only: To very reverently and respectfully pray up a storm," Perdue said when he approached the podium after worship had quieted down. "It's time to appeal to Him who can and will make a difference," Perdue said. Lawmakers and ministers joined the governor for the morning prayer vigil.
The Georgian governor is not the first governor to hold a call for public prayer during the drought stripping the Southeast. Alabama Governor Bob Riley issued a proclamation declaring a week in July as "Days of Prayer for Rain" to "humbly ask for His blessings and to hold us steady in times of difficulty."(CBN News, Christianity Today) WATCH VIDEO OF PRAYER "
Keep praying and Shalom~~~
Please continue to pray against the Hate Crimes bill. The government should not grant special rights based on gender identity, sexual orientation, or "perceived" gender identity. This bill has far reaching ramifications for the family, school curriculum, employment, and religious freedom.

Don't Divide Jerusalem: Immediate Prayer Needed
In less than ten days, there will be meetings in Annapolis between the Palestinians and Israelis about the future of the land in Israel. In Scripture God makes it clear that dividing the land of Israel is an offense to Him and that He will bring His judgment on those who have divided the land. That is why I have repeatedly asked for prayer for Israel and prayer that the United States abandon the Road Map to Peace which divides the land in Israel. We cannot afford to be purpetrators of the division of the land. God says He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel. If we are a party to dividing the land, the impending judgment will certainly have a profound effect on our families.
PRAY that Israel will not be divided any further and that the United States will not be guilty of aiding and abetting its division.
Intercessors for America gives good background information below.
"But which of them has stood in the council of the LORD to see or to hear his word? Who has listened and heard his word? See, the storm of the LORD will burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked. The anger of the LORD will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand it clearly.- Jeremiah 23:18-20
ANNAPOLIS MEETING SURROUNDED BY FEARS AND DANGERS
With less than ten days and counting till the planned gathering in Annapolis, invitations have yet to be sent, not a jot of the planned "joint declaration" has been written, and various parties are hinting that they may not show up if invited. It turns out that Israeli and Palestinian leaders are too weak to deliver concessions, and concessions are what the Americans require. It would appear that this [meeting], which initially had the support of the Israelis and Palestinians, is beginning to unravel, as both begin to perceive potential traps from which neither may be able to escape. (Israel Insider, 11/16/07) [Praise the Lord (my comment)]
Intercede for spiritual statesmen and for adherence to biblical revelation and principles in the formulation and execution of foreign policy, especially toward Israel and Jerusalem.
Intercede for the revelation of Jesus as Messiah in the Middle East and for "the peace of Jerusalem." (Ps 122)
Pray for spiritual statesman: Ask the Lord to give wisdom from above, that He would intervene as necessary to thwart the will of man and the will of Satan.
Intercede as the Lord leads regarding the interplay of the following religious systems around the projected Annapolis summit: The princes of Persia and Greece, Baal and Asherah, Ahab and Jezebel, idolatry, perversion and false gods, pride and political power (Job 41:1-3), mammon and greed (Luke 16:13), spirits of antichrist (1 John 4:2-4), confusion and madness.
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."- Matthew 16:17-19 (KJV)
"I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes,. . .Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God." - Ezekiel 36:27,28 (NKJ)
ISRAELI LAWMAKERS MAKE IT TOUGHER TO DIVIDE JERUSALEM [Praise the Lord]
A law that will make it more difficult for the Israeli government to divide the city of Jerusalem passed a preliminary reading by a large majority in the Israeli Knesset on Wednesday (11/14/07). Israel's Basic Law states that Jerusalem is Israel's capital, and any changes to the city's boundaries must be approved by a majority in the Knesset. Wednesday's proposed law would require 80 of the 120 Knesset members to approve any changes to the boundaries instead of the current 61. (CNSNews.com, 11/14/07)
" . . .This is what the LORD Almighty says:'I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion . . ."- Zechariah 1:14b
WATCH OVER JERUSALEM:COALITION FORMS TO BLOCK SPLIT OF JERUSALEM [PTL]
Likud party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu joined Jerusalem Mayor Uri Lupolianski, numerous legislators and hundreds of other activists Wednesday at the City of David (located on the southeastern hill below the walled city of Jerusalem) to form a new coalition for Jerusalem with the slogan painted in blue on a huge white banner, "Watch Over Jerusalem." Those who came to fight Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's plan to split Jerusalem with the Palestinian Authority (PA) were addressed by speakers calling for Israelis to unite to block the Prime Minister from carrying out his plan, which he intends to discuss at the upcoming Middle East summit in Annapolis. Liberty Council's email on the ENDA Vote in the House
I have published many blogs about the ENDA bill which recently passed in the House as was expected. Because of the Chrisitan Right's work it, passed by a narrower margin than expected. Many bills in the past have passed with a 2 to 1 margin. ENDA now goes to the Senate where it will probably also pass. Fortunately, we have President Bush's word that he will veto the bill.
We must, however, continue to Pray and Take Action.
Below is the Liberty Council's email regarding their ENDA campaign:
"Last week, the House of Representatives passed the EmploymentNon-Discrimination Act (ENDA) by a vote of 235-184. As we had anticipated, the Democratic leadership demonstrated their eagerness to pander to pro-homosexual activists and their narrow interests, and proved to be very deceptive in their scheduling of the vote.
Sadly, the out-of-touch 110th Congress has once again shown itself willing to threaten our Nation's precious rights for purely political concerns. Most analysts have emphasized that the bill fell far short of the necessary number of votes to override the veto President Bush has repeatedly promised. Thankfully, the White House responded to the vote by announcing that the President will not allow this dangerous and divisive legislation to become the law of the land.
Despite the fact that ENDA has passed the House and will likely sail through the Senate under the sponsorship of Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Liberty Counsel's friends and supporters helped achieve some important victories in this battle.
Here are a few points of which we can be justifiably proud:
*We bombarded key congressional leaders with over 20,000 faxes urging ENDA's rejection at crucial points in the bill's progress through the House. Well done!
*The pressure from outraged citizens caused 25 Democrats to break ranks with their leadership. There can be no doubt that Liberty Counsel's aggressive campaign helped narrow the vote to a point well below the number required to be "veto proof."
*Our Washington office did a stellar job of keeping our supporters informed of the Democratic leadership's deceptive handling of the bill, and effectively coordinated our strategy's successful implementation.
*With the help of thousands of Liberty Counsel supporters, we effectively publicized the bill's fatal flaws. The ridiculous "transgender" provisions, for instance, became politically unsupportable and drove a wedge in the pro-homosexual lobby that will continue to be a major problem to them.
*While it is disappointing that our elected officials would pass such a flawed and dangerous bill, we can be thankful that thousands of Liberty Counsel friends and supporters stood up to the pro-homosexual steamroller. Now, our clear voice of reason needs to be heard in the Senate! Even though ENDA is expected to get the Senate's "rubber stamp,"our Senators need to know they are going to pay a huge political price for going along with ENDA's deception!
Here's what I need you to do:
1) Pray for President Bush and his resolve to veto ENDA (we'll coordinate an outpouring of support for his veto at the appropriate time).
2) Get ready to bombard the Senate in the same way we did the House! As soon as the Senate vote is announced we will be sending you an update.
3) Give a generous gift today to replenish our depleted war chest. Liberty Counsel must be ready to stand up to the next outrageous initiative from the notorious leadership of the 110th Congress!
To help Liberty Counsel, go here: http://www.libertyaction.org/3081/offer.asp?rid=13336825 I believe the battle to stop ENDA continues to be one of the most important citizen actions in the history of our Nation. Please don't stop praying. Don't stop resisting this outrageous attack on our constitutional rights. We must continue fighting until the danger is over! Thank you for standing with us and saying, "NO!" to pro-homosexual forces.

More to Pray and Take Action About
We are back from Minnesota for awhile. There are many important things for us to pray about and take action on.
The Freedom of Choice Act is in the House Judiciary Committee. Please pray that bill never becomes a law. Start making weekly phone calls to your Representative asking him/her to vote against the bill. If this bill were ever to become law, legalizing tax supported abortion up to the day of delivery, I believe a rapid and devastating judgment from God would be released upon our nation.
Please pray for a Candidate who supports Biblical values to be nominated for President and to be elected as President. Ask God for a President that will stand for Biblical solutions for the problems facing our nation. One that will lead in righteousness, honesty and strength. Pray for godly candidates to be elected to fill every vacancy and to replace the unrighteous.
You have probably heard about Darfur but you may not know a lot about it. There is a great website: http://www.savedarfur.org/ that has the history of the problem and many other articles about Darfur. Be in the know. Check it out.
Please visit the daily sites on the blog sidebar. This will help you as you seek to become a Christian activist. The nation needs to hear your voice.
Shalom~

Of Death and a Crooked Rocketship
On November 4th of 2007, my mother passed on to be with the Lord. We are now in Minnesota where my mother lived and will be flying home tomorrow -- hence the lack of blog entries. I published the last entry before we left for the airport.
While I was on the phone telling my daughter about my mother's passing and making plans to fly out to MN, my four year old granndson interrupted our conversation with a crisis of his own -- his rocketship was crooked at the bottom and required my daughter's immediate attention.
It struck me that the passing into eternity of a loved mother and grandmother, a very important matter for my daughter and I, and the crooked rocketship of my grandson, a very important matter for him were problems of crisis proportions for each of us. The size of one's crisis is dependent on the perspective and maturity of the individual.
Where do we go when we have a crisis? My grandson knew who to go to to solve his crooked rocketship problem -- my daughter. She was able to solve his problem by straightening out a few leggos. What do we do when we have a problem? It is comforting to know that whatever the size our problems are, no matter how large they may seem, to our dear Heavenly Father, who is the God of all comfort, they are as easy to fix as my grandson's crooked rocketship. God and God alone has the perfect perspective and all the answers. Our problems are never beyond His ability to solve, fix, remedy and heal. He also has the ability to use every situation to perfect and strengthen us. The only real problem lies in that we don't always have the good sense to bring everything to Him in prayer asking for His strength and His help.
Just as my grandson knew who to go to to fix his rocketship, it is my prayer for each one of us that we will also know that we have a heavenly Father who is full of love, compassion and provision for all of our problems, and who eagerly waits for us to bring everything to Him in prayer.
Shalom, dear ones~~~~

Day 40 of 40 Days for Life
Thank you David Bereit, Father Frank Pavone and Carmen Pate for 40 Days for Life!
40 DAYS FOR LIFE:
DAY 40, NOVEMBER 4
Daily Devotional by Fr. Frank Pavone*********************
INTENTION: Pray that the witness of 40 Days for Life bears abundant fruit, and that we begin again each day to storm the gates of hell until God welcomes us into the gates of heaven.
SCRIPTURE: "On this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it." -- Matthew 16:18
REFLECTION: When we read this verse, we usually think that the Lord is promising that the church, which is His Body, will withstand all the attacks launched against it. Of course, that is true. But when we think about it more carefully, we realize that in a battle, the gates do not run out into the battlefield to attack the enemy. Rather, they stand still to defend the city from the enemy attacking it. So when the Lord says that the gates of hell will not prevail against the church, who is doing the attacking? It is the church storming the gates! The church, all of God's people in Christ, is called to take the offensive, to run into enemy territory, and to gain ground for Jesus Christ. We do not wait for an invitation; we already have a command. We prepare, but we do not wait for circumstances to be perfect; we already have one who has gone before us.
During these 40 days, we have stormed the gates. We have taken the offensive. We have pushed forward the boundaries of the kingdom. And we must keep doing so, in numerous ways. The pro-life effort is "a matter of the heart." To end abortion, our hearts must be broken. This evil cannot simply be something we know about or debate. We have to allow it to grieve us, to bring us to tears, to bring us to our knees. "Blessed are those who mourn," for only when our hearts are broken can they open wide enough to receive the grace and strength to storm the gates. Indeed, the gates of hell will not prevail. The gates of falsehood will flee in the presence of truth. The gates of sin will melt in the presence of grace. The gates of death will fall in the presence of the church, the People of Life!
PRAYER: Father, we praise you.
We have heard the voice of your Son,
And therefore we can make our voices heard.
We have been justified in the blood of your Son,
And therefore we can oppose every form of injustice.
We have repented of our sins,
And therefore we can lead the sinner to repentance.
We have done battle with the power of evil,
And therefore we can have compassion on those still within its grip.
We have been freed from the kingdom of darkness,
And therefore we can bear witness to your Kingdom of Light.
May the witness of all your people through these 40 Days for Life bear abundant fruit, and may we begin again each day to storm the gates of hell until You welcome us into the gates of heaven. We pray in the victorious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, AMEN
Thankful To God,
David Bereit
National Campaign Director
40 Days for Life
Thank you 40 Days for Life for the enriching lessons and victorious warfare inwhich you have lead us these past 40 days. Praise the Lord Most High for the victories, changed lives and saved lives that have happened because of your effort. Thank you for letting us participate in your warfare. May God bless, strengthen, prosper and bless you as you continue to serve Him. And Shalom~

Action Against ENDA
One of the bills the Christian Community needs to stand against is ENDA, (Employment Non Discrimination Act). This act if passed makes it impossible for churches, daycare centers, Christian businesses, schools and everyone else to refuse to hire someone who is gay, transgender, shemale (1/2 sex change), or sexchanged individuals because of their sexual identity.
PRAY: Set the Blood of Jesus against ENDA. Ask God to stop this from becoming law in America.
TAKE ACTION: Our friends at Tradition Values Coalition ask that you do two things to help block ENDA: (1) Send an email to your US Representative so your position will be documented — Cap Wiz and, (2) Call your US Representative and register your comments: 202-225-3121.
Shalom~
